Good point about bindings and completion scripts. Binding commands themselves are not big problems, the problem is replicating readline commands, there are loads of those. I'm not sure how much work one needs to do to implement things

Hi, Elvish author here :) I am really glad that you find interesting, but I also wonder which aspects of Elvish do you find awkward? Like Fish, friendly experience out of the box is also one of the goals of Elvish.

FWIW, POSIX emulation is on my TODO list: https://github.com/elves/elvish/issues/205 Not sure whether I will actually get to it though. Parsing sounds like a lot of headache. Your work is very impressive, but

I wonder why he didn't use the Builder-like approach used in the context package ( https://golang.org/pkg/context/ ). It is more verbose to implement, but since this error package is used throughout upspin it s

I am intrigued by your comparison. Does Emacs also provide a declarative UI framework, or do you have to work with controls yourself (like gtk or qt)?

I don’t think it does. Third party clients are not entirely banned, but will get random logouts from time to time, making it more painful to use. A little background here: WeChat has the concept of “master device” and “slave device”. Master
