I was really hoping to see someone have a different experience than me, so thank you ;). Not sure why the difference though, perhaps we have the speed around here but just not a decent price. I've heard more non-tech people complain ab

There are plenty of people already on the $15/mo plan with Audible. Myself included. I listen to audio books on my commute. The difference with my more expensive plan is that I get too keep the audio books. Though I have not re-listene

I wonder if it would be practical to programmatically generate an audio file for the game so that it could be loaded straight from the web without using a disk. Similar to the Apple Game Server http://asciiexpress.net/gamese

Looks like they're offering a full money back guarantee after a month. Though I suppose it's entirely possible that you haven't been paid by a client in that time frame.

Just recently ran across Parkinson's Law when looking up Bikeshedding on Wikipedia (which redirects to "Parkinson's law of triviality"). Found some copies of his book on Amazon which I'd like to read through some ti

Been waiting to see this happen, though it's not the first attempt at decentralized storage. Interested to see if someone can pull this off with WebRTC.

Yea, that's a valid point. I'm pretty sure some could handle it, but many peers may not be able to. Using Usenet for mass archives would have to be done gradually. "more than 25 petabytes of Usenet messages on the Giganews se

Most premium providers haven't deleted binaries in several years. At worst, it could at least be temporary archival until more permanent storage is acquired in the future. For example, place the 0 views Justin.TV vids there until Archi

I wonder if Usenet is at all a consideration for excess archival. Any NSP I've heard of allows for unlimited uploads. Sounds like a good use for the archaic system.

Sorry to hear about your wife, I hope that situation improves. Regarding community involvement, this is the hurdle that I can't figure out myself. I've done research in this area and talked to people about the prospect. I haven&#x

Not sure I've ran across what you're describing. Are you talking about using streams as an option to get around callback hell? Have a link describing this?

The picture of the one attached to a girl's bike appears to connect to a power source next to the front wheel which I assume to be some sort of generator from wheel motion.

Didn't think about using an old phone. I think I found the Android App on the Play store [1] but it requires root which likely removes the 'REALLY simple installer' requirement. [1] https://play.google.com/stor

Yup, IANA was allocating two /8's per month before they ran out. At best, you'd get a few months of extra time. http://www.iana.org/assignments/ipv4-address-space/ipv4-addr...

Trying to think how you could build this. Unless there's some fancy new feature in the browsers, I think you'd have to do something complicated like run WebKit.JS and capture from the canvas output.

I like the article overall but I don't understand the author's proposed solution. The issue as it stands is apparently a lack of peering, in that big ISPs are using transit to reach large content providers rather than directly pee

So what happened? It seems like just yesterday that the FCC was the one creating the rules around net neutrality. A federal court over-turns this and all of a sudden the FCC decides to go the complete opposite direction?

I've recently done the same. Still trying to get my work environment set up decently. We need some sort of user group for people doing 4k programming to exchange ideas, tools, methods, etc.
