Many smaller companies do. If you can lead and multiply the existing staff you can earn more. The downside is that you have limited runway and might have to hop around.

I'm impressed by the sheer number of topics posted. Although digging deeper I'm quickly disappointed. A lot of the information is old and has gaps. Wouldn't it be easier, and arguably smarter, to maintain a offline wikipedia

Proper infrastructure is expensive, along with competent ops. Clearly not prioritized. If infra was neglected I would wager security is too.

Enterprise class disks have significant behavioral differences when dealing with a bad sector, among other differences. Intel has a good paper on this subject. See 3.2.1: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support&#

I drink a low calorie green shake in the morning. It’s water, kale, spinach, and a bit of ginger. Sometimes I’ll add a banana. I drink it for a cognitive boost but it can also help me reduce my caloric intake for the day. I find that cognit

I’m really impressed that chat rooms were used to trade information. It’s something I do in my area of technology and it makes perfect sense in hindsight. Are the groups an open secret to give legitimacy to the info, or is membership more c

I think this specific process is referred to as domain tasting. Front running is using insider information, such as whois logs, while tasting is actively registering domains and measuring how much traffic the domain gets. https://

While I agree SMS based MFA is less than ideal the real issue is telephony security. Weak security allows ANI spoofing, message interception (as seen here), IMSI catching, and who knows what else. I stopped picking up calls from unknown num

You probably need more than one analyzer to find the physical location of the signal within a reasonable amount of time. Make friends with local ham radio operators. Almost everyone loves a good fox hunt. https://en.wikipedia.org

I respectfully disagree with 1/3 direct-value payout in tech consulting. My experience is 77% paid to the employee. If you have to consume 2/3 to cover overhead the employees are effectively subsidizing a very expensive business m

This is an outrage. I used instacart for awhile and eventually stopped - it just became too expensive. I would always waive the service fee when possible and tip the driver in cash. Glad I did - now knowing they use it to deny living wages.

The buyer looked at a list of authorized retailers after the fact. This should have been done before the purchase. To me - this article is a reminder to be personally responsible when shopping online.

Very dramatic article. Author made a lot of assumptions, a common pitfall, and got a fake product. She reports she received a refund. I can’t fault anyone but the buyer here.
