The problem is finding another job that pays as well - I'm low on the totem pole but earn 4x the average salary for my expertise.

It starts off with obvious and socially acceptable uses of technology, such as stopping terrorism. Over time, though, the application of technology like this will be used to target people for lesser offenses. Unpaid parking tickets, for exa

I see container systems, such as Docker, as a packaging system more than anything else.

I want law enforcement requests to be difficult, and impossible to automate. Imposing barriers to retrieve footage is a factor which I think helps prevent overreach. Although it's probably too late..

How do you think Brendan arrived at that decision? Of course you saw the public product of their conversations, it's natural to think that.

Mozilla faced tremendous pressure from the media, Mitchell had no choice but to let him go. The public went on a witch hunt. It's your peers who did this, not Mozilla's chairman.

I hope flexibility is the future. I take advantage of this a lot, but unfortunately, my company has a lot of new managers. They LOVE meetings. I really cant stand it.

If you look at airbag module teardowns there is a giant capacitor, but this is used to fire airbags in the event the vehicle's power system is rendered inoperable prior to deployment.

Ad blocking is the only thing that makes the web bearable. I hope the extension rejection was a mistake or over something unrelated to blocking functionality.

At first I was excited because the Sonos software stack frustrates me, but looking at source it just hits api.sonos.com. Would love to control the speakers directly on my LAN.

I enjoy remote work because I want to feel alone – I can't help but think preferences like this alienate some of your employees. Like me, if I worked with you.

I will always pirate shows. I cut the cord 11 years ago due to my objection of cable company billing practices. The entire industry is greedy. I was a netflix subscriber for awhile but I burned thru all the good stuff and left.
