clojure uses immutabilty heavily. It doesn't really match 1-to-1 CL/elisp code. I think PCL( http://gigamonkeys.com/book/ ) is still a great introduction to CL. The author is planning a 2nd edition last i hear

Sorry but emacs package managers don't get in your way anymore than the bundled libraries that come with emacs. They often have bugs/limitations you may have to hack around. But you can't modify them if they are globally inst

This is what i used to edit configurations in plan9 console if you don't have graphics support(over serial console) or to fix issues before starting rio. It is surprisingly pretty decent experience.

That is fine if you consider cryptocurrency as an investment. But if the goal is to be used as a currency(which is what this integration is about), then it is not acceptable.

example in the manual: https://nixos.org/manual/nixpkgs/stable/#chap-trivial-builde... shows how it creates a file `$out/message`. If you want to write to nix store with stdenv use $out.

Consider using nix package manager. You can have multiple versions for every tool/library you like.

There is barely any reason for FSharp to exist if not for dotnet interop(from the fsharp history paper). There are some novelties but they came later. Any language developed on dotnet platform will always be in C#'s shadow. F# is much

But not everyone's time is valued equally by the market. Yet commercial software has the same price regardless. So yes a lot of time it is more economical to pay in time than money.

Are you talking about go-style explicit pointers? I don't know if it is worth it to add them with a different semantics and dealing with nulls when you can have value types with an attribute. Pointers as an abstraction also leak implem

Downloading a binary from internet and running it doesn't make it a better practice. That's what everyone does though. So no idea why you are complaining about curl and pipes.

If your function represents async workflow then you can just implement the async side and the caller can just block on it if they want that semantics. The problem with the ecosystem in Rust is there are various runtime libraries and no stan

You can't arbitrarily compose 2 functions with mismatched types. So i don't think this argument holds in a typed language.

No without compiler support you can't do async in a library. Rust also does async in library so to speak.

I really don't see a problem with function color in a typed language. Every function has color and compiler enforces you pass right color. Async is just another type that may have some convenient syntax. It might be inconvenient in unt
