There are various fields in computer science, nobody claims formal specification and correctness in a NLP/ML library nor in a graphics library. Formal verification is orthogonal to other fields.

What do you mean, you don't understand "lingo"? Do you not understand english? Because that's an easily understood english sentence, and you just claimed "pretty good handle on things like recursion or traversing or

It will take a week at most, to figure out what libraries you will need, if you have programmed before in any language.

I think it's rare(government/scientific organizations aside). But many services do provide a free quota for their api i.e. the service comes first.

Not to mention the bug "zfs file io suspended", if you unplugged an usb device without exporting the pool(the process is also unkillable). And you can't mount/unmount anything else!!

The comment i replied to : > No, Generics make it possible to create a generic immutable data structure I am sure i can read.

You are still talking about immutable data structures, which has nothing to do with generics.

I don't understand, how does that make it "forever foreigners"? Have you tried telling them you understand japanese and continue conversation? How would the other person know if you arrived yesterday or living there for 20yrs

What? That's because english is considered universal language and they don't want to presume that you know japanese well enough for a conversation? That doesn't happen to asians in the US, you know maybe because they don'

Coverity is expensive and majority of software people use are open-source which don't make use of it(hence all the CVEs). As an end user running a server, i very much care about whether my web server has vulnerabilities. And the pr

Did i claim that one requires the other? Some people also find it very hard to memorize bazillion syntax rules. Comparing understanding scheme is equivalent to "divination by tarot cards" is a bit ridiculous, don't you think?

yeah, s-exprs are very hard, right? compared to bazillion new keywords that can't be used by user programs and various kinds of brackets for different purposes.

Yes, using empty interfaces and adding common data structures to the runtime eliminate the primary use-case of generics. Who would have thought..

There is no parallelism, the runtime doesn't offer any. The best you can do is fork(). But there is an effort ongoing for a few years now, multicore-ocaml, which will be available mainstream when it's Ready(no ETA).

I agree, it also needs a lot of memory. Unless i use some debugging facility of drracket, i just use emacs with racket-mode.
