I still wish they'd give reasons why. even if it was a checkbox thing. 'primary reason of rejection: no-cofounder' or 'bad idea', 'need more demo', 'not our area of interest', 'try again with this team and idea in 6 months' etc.

You can write functional code in perl 5 from 15 years ago... and you can do an even better job of it in perl today. CPAN has no shortage of libraries. See Higher Order Perl book (it's free too).

Wow I really disagree with this. Most websites do have a profit model, or were never tying to make any to begin with. Correctly said most /popular/ web businesses don't have one. A large majority of sites are just personal pages or business

I can say I've never looked for a 'business guy' but I have looked for a 'sales and marketing'. I suck a lot more at those, but I think there's more to running a business than those, so I wouldn't /necessarily/ want that guy running the bus

Reminds me of Liquid Web who copied rackspace calling it Heroic Support. If you need to be a Fanatic or hero you're doing it wrong. I think I'll start a web host and call it "competent" support.

I think it depends on your 'project' as one person said. if you want to write systems software, or desktop apps C/C++ is a good route, however if you want to write Web Applications it's not, you should pick a scripting language. Pick the la

for a 1 time command that I don't need to look at again I'd just use alt+f2 kde's 'run prompt' is pretty good. of course it doesn't actually provide the 'shell environment'.

better idea, see searches that were made by other people who searched the same thing as you, in a recent search timespan. (for example if I search linux firewall, 10 minutes later I search iptables they are probably related).

This was more of a pain for SQLite than it was worth. It requires a lot more paperwork than just giving it a BSD (or similar) license.

I'm not aware of any OSS license that doesn't allow others to copy the code and make money off it. even AGPLv3 (arguably the most restrictive license) allows it.

a book on postgresql 8.3 (or the to be released 8.4) with some good strong chapters on various PL languages. I'm thinking one on PL/Perl a few on PL/pgSQL, one on PL/SQL, one on SQL/PSM (maybe). several on the rest of Postgres.
