I would like to remind everyone that you can pay Apple just under $50 in order to receive direct support from a software engineer. https://developer.apple.com/support/technical/

>And now, with COVID, we're watching our economy cleave into the starkest case of haves and have-nots in my lifetime. I am really sad about this. It's going to be a literal depression for a significant portion of American socie

I really like ProtonMail. I expect them to get bought and then inevitably ruined, though. But until then, I'm a happy user.

This is really cool, and I had no idea about Vim using a tree instead of a stack for undos. I'll check out Gundo. Do you have any other similar recs that would help for learning?

Would this author happen to have a blog post of how they teach it? I'm curious.

I obviously don't want a draft, but it would be extremely interesting to see the reactions from everyone if it remained male-only.

I still don't know of any happy long-term couples in my social network who met through OLD. The closest is a friend who is poly, meets all of her partners online, and then has a heavily one-sided poly relationship, since it's much

It's not surprising at all. Life in the United States is, on average, better for young women than it is for young men. They simply have more opportunity. I don't have any resentment over it. I'm not even young anymore (let&#x

I'd be interested to know if that's really the case. Hopefully some people can weigh in. I really don't want to believe that what you think is true because it's upsetting.

It's actually really sad that someone who has easily generated millions of dollars of value with their work gets nothing for it. Yeah yeah, it's open source, but it still sucks. I'm assuming they can't be compensated eas

No, the courts should impose their will on society in situations where equality needs to be enforced. Just imagine if the process you're describing had been used to stop segregation in the United States.

To be fair, Halide is pretty great. I found it through HN. I'm surprised Apple didn't buy them yet, since they don't seem to be at risk of being Sherlocked.

Blind reviews + levels.fyi salaries are the new Glassdoor for tech companies. I'm sure they will eventually face the same issues, but they're currently better (even if that doesn't mean much).

The best thing is to do both. Work at a top company, and have a side project that you can discuss with hiring managers.

I'm really, really happy to see this. I know this is going to sound like parody or satire, but I swear I'm being sincere: this is a huge deal for applying to FAANG (and companies that do FAANG interviews) and leetcoding in Swift.
