Part of it is for people that want to do GPU things on their fly.io networks. One of the big things I do personally is I made Arsène ( https://arsene.fly.dev ) a while back as an exploration of the "dead internet" theory

We're still using the CoffeeScript of JSON because YAML's UX improvments haven't been brought into the upstream JSON spec like CoffeeScript's UX improvements were brought into JavaScript.

fly.io employee here, it's basically an adaptor from the Kubernetes world of YAML to the fly.io world of Machines. How could we have framed it better so that it was more clear?

Fly.io employee here. Go with Supabase if you want a managed database. Fly.io Postgres is unmanaged. This is the key difference, yes.

Honestly as a writer I agree that it could be a useful tool, but it would require a lot of UX and UI work to make it truly usable. I don't know if it's worth the effort with the technology as it is. Maybe in 2 months it will be.
