Without wishing to flame, it's based on 12 years of professional experience working in the games industry. I could lend reason to AI, however I stand by my comment with regards to rendering and physics.

It's making me very angry the more I read about the Xbox One press launch. There's two things you needed to do Microsoft. 1) Make the console 5x to 10x more powerful than the previous generation. 2) Open the platform up to indies, like Appl

Cloud doing any of these things is bonkers. The cloud is good at things like running Xbox live, making my profile available anywhere, saving my games. Using the internet, let me emphasis this, the transient, unreliable communication system

My name on the internet comes from my time playing Quake 3. It is my real name, at least as far as I'm concerned.

Where does Yahoo keep getting it's money from? I don't now anyone who uses their platform. I'm assuming it must still be fairly popular in the US.

I spent quite a bit of money on corrective laser eye surgery (which turned out great). The surgery meant I no longer have to wear glasses, which I didn't enjoy at all. Sorry Google, put your tech into some other item of clothing and I might

Many many moons ago I had a similar idea, although my idea was to spot patterns of eBay purchases. I had a feeling that people in various parts of the world would buy certain types of items depending on economic trends. Once I had identifi

I quite like this idea and it brings us closer to the concept of a digitally fingerprinted will. Which I'd much prefer to the one that is stored in my solicitors filing cabinet, somewhere.

I have to say you've done a fantastic job with the Tfl API. Any chance you could put up a link to the hackathon here? Or at least give us a few more details?

I've noticed that once the wheels of conversation have been greased (via beer and a few presentations), during the interval people really seem to mingle and chat. To my mind this is the golden 10-15 minutes of the hacker news meetup. Here's

This is great and nice to see some competition for Google. One thing I do like when I've seen the Google car, is it seems to bomb down the road at top speed. I've not seen how the Oxford car reacts at high speed. Hats off though, nice work

Interesting, yet I'd have liked a little more of a break down of the results. For example the GPU will probably need to transfer the sorted data to and from the card. This will have a dramatic effect on performance.

More often than not on hacker news there's a story about someone whose accidentally gone 'bohemian'. I think it's something we all need to do from time to time. Personally I like to rent a cottage in one of England's many fine forests. The
