"The main goal of the team was to implement a job processing pipeline that was vendor agnostic and cloud-based" I wonder if they feel they've achieved it? How much work would it be to switch away from their choice of JS libra

One easy thing I've found was to simply charge less. if you substract all your expenses - commute, office, lunch and coffee money, you can get away with charging a lot less. That way you can target a wider range of roles (roles that wo

I would like to once more criticize the fact that BBC re-invented the wheel (and micro:bit) at a time where $5 Raspberry Pi 0 is widely available. It would have been much better to spend the effort of producing better learning software and

Bad analysis. Nowadays, my bookings are 50/50 split between regular hotels and apartment rentals. I would have stayed in hotels 100% if there was no alternative.

It's not the first time I read about Barcelona but it is more than just street layout that makes a city tick. It's the people, culture, history, weather, waste and delivery trucks. So you can't just do the exact same thing to

If i read this correctly, this should expire in 4 years anyway, I know it's a lot of time in tech, but might be around the same time that trial completes?

This may not go down too well, but it is an opinion I heard and I personally agree with (having worked in UK gov institution and that far from GDS): GDS is wasting taxpayer money, spending way too much attention on minute details like apost

Actually ruins are just that - pieces of broken stone at best. They are not that interesting on their own in my view, but they are often in great locations - old towns with cafes and museum or top of the hill, with great views etc If it

This. No matter how you spin it, shipping and handling large TVs is costly. Even a small % of failed units is going to cost you plenty for shipping returns alone. And the margins on TVs are as slim as modern TVs, I think the likes of Sony c

Show me those cheap 55" 4k monitors that you speak of. I know Vizio TV that are cheap, but to my knowledge no 'monitors' exist in that size or price range.

This is wrong. Modern TV follow standard 'bathtub' curve for failures. If the TV hasn't had any faults when new, it's not very likely to develop any new ones as it hasn't got any moving parts and things that wear an

Rather than artificially avoid 9 to 5, I am now in a job where 9 to 5 makes a lot of sense (for worldwide 24/7 coverage) I clock out at 5ish and I don't worry about work until next day or after the weekend. No such thing with a bu

It sounds like the wrong question or a solution looking for a problem. Are you already hitting traffic that can't be handled by big servers? Do you actually have a problem?

I also appreciate the review, but I think it's a case of too little, too late and too expensive. For that price you can simply build a spare HTPC in a box of similar size or get a powerful laptop with good GPU built-in.

5G is still a shared-medium carrier so it will get congested no matter how fast the total is - all it takes is a few bad or uneducated players spamming the wireless spectrum. Or just bad weather.
