Wow, must try to watch it. I remember reading The City & the City and thinking about how visually it would be... different clothes, overlapping murals?

I've realized that when I use cheap pens on hotel stationery, my handwriting looks terrible, probably because the surfaces are too smooth? Other than fountain pens, are there other alternatives that give more tactile feedback?

Right, OLTP vs OLAP are very different workloads (using the car analogy, that would be like using a ferrari to tow a trailer, and an F250 to... oh wait, an F250 can do anything!). But seriously though, even if you use postgres, as a former

I like the way you can use the tabs to check the results of each reviewed cloud storage service, and the exposition on each. Anybody know what the authors used to create this website? Custom built, or a templated version?

seafile is open source ( https://github.com/haiwen/seafile ), or at least was, when I looked at it years ago. Definitely a concern when the paper mentioned an acknowledge of the protocol downgrade as of 29th April 2024,

I went through a phase where I enjoyed short stories more than a book, as many authors have used that form (the short story) to work on a particular theme or topic of interest to them. Orson Scott Card's Maps in a Mirrors comes to mind

Someone explain to me please, how type-safe and JSON can even exist in the same sentence? JSON has so many edge cases for handling numbers, floats, bools etc. Why would you not use gRPC or even something like CapnProto if you want to main

I understand your fascination with barefoot training, but it is a bit extremist. I too have tried VFFs and other barefoot shoes (I competed in a deadlift competition once, wearing merrell minumus), and do a lot of gym stuff without shoes,

I guess it depends on the usage. A pair of La Sportiva G2 SMs is about $1000, and over a 3 week expedition, let's say I wear those 10 of the days (I wouldn't wear double boots all the time), so that's $10/toe ($1000
