I'm pretty sure protobuf ignores new fields (if you add; assuming you add as an append, and not change the field ordering), and it recommends you not to remove a field to ensure backward compatibility.

I believe there are plenty of studies which show that #1 this is most effective with a strong base, and #2 this regime is only effective for 8-12 weeks, at which point in time you stall in progress, and need to go back to base building agai

go for it (upgrade to linux). My T480s is still my goto laptop when I'm travelling (if I lose it, no biggie - encrypted home dir, meanwhile it can last for 5-7 hours playing videos, running webapps etc), versus my work laptop on windo

not sure how many conferences you have been to, but (1) abstracts are filtered, since conferences probably get 100s of abstracts for every slot they have available, some of which end up being converted to workshops or breakout panel discuss

warning: all tow floats do leak in the storage compartment, especially if you do swim with it (as opposed to sitting on the beach), so if you really intend to put a laptop in, make sure to put it into a proper water tight sleeve/ziploc
