I would second Pattern Recognition. Something about it struck a chord with my similar inclination towards clothing and accessories without massive labels. Never realised it was so such a big thing that would spawn sites like cool hunting,

I had that exact feeling when I visited denver, many years ago when I was doing triathlons. I woke up the next morning, went to the gym to do a 1 hour bike threshold session, and started panting for breath within the first 10 minutes of wa

I can see how the AI companies would work around this though: user queries "static" training data in LLM; LLM guesses something, then searches internet in real-time for data to support the guesses. This would be classified as &qu

saw your email, thanks! As much as I would want a customized Gwerm-Jörmungandr-ouroboros t-shirt (just a random though!), I think you have already more than earned the kudos with your work, so let me just give my thanks to you for somethin

Saw a juggler in Barcelona do this. Was juggling at the lights, then ran around asking for tips. Ran up to me too, as a pedestrian, but I was crossing the lights then so he decided to focus on the cars instead.

are you talking about the titan pg or equivalent? I've seen reviews so far saying GPS and HRM are not that accurate?

For talisker, most/all the rowers will have freeze dried food (store bought or self-made). The boats have a desalination plant (the boats have solar panels) so they do have fresh water, but only enough for drinking/eating, they w

I don't write often anymore (since I can touchtype much faster), but on the occasions when I do, the "trick" I've found is to write big (like, think of how you'd want to write, then enlarge 2x2 or even bigger). Thi

"The result: a design that passes simulation is far more likely to synthesize identically, averting costly back-end surprises" This is the sort of phrasing that either a committee of marketing people wrote up, or an LLM.

will the new AMD AI CPUs work? like an AI HX 395 or the slower 370? I'm stuck on an A2000 w/16GB of VRAM and wondering what's a worthwhile upgrade.

Agreed, Perl introduced me to REGEX and hashes. To this day, whenever I do any work with data, I tend to think in terms of REGEX first rather than convoluted string manipulation.

Isn't this the best way to start an infiltration, though? Like hiring a janitor or cleaner, who is able to access the office during off hours, and can start planting false information, which is then used by a more relevant company yea

They would swim the entire 50m underwater, if given the chance. I've seen them do so in practice, very lazy-looking dolphin kicks, but still faster than most swimmers on the surface.

Traditionally the middle lanes have less turbulence so the faster swimmers get them so they can swim faster, whereas us slowpokes get the side lanes. And I guess it looks good on TV to have those nice chevrons
