Exactly, absolutely nothing you can do. On a brand new night, someone outright stated that "they pick guy X, since he is always the first one to go". I guess empathy is lost on that one.

I used to run weekly Mafia/Werewolf parties: casual 2h nights with almost always 2-3 new folks. For me running it (i.e. Being the "god", the narrrator etc.) is much more fun in such a context, as it's more about storytel

If you're on iPhone that might make sense but on Android there is no need, lots of ways to get access to it after you moved to Canada, if you ever want to pick up smoking.

What I think is happening is that the place is specifically charging different tax rates for each part of the pizza. That does seem odd but the alternative would be to tax the whole of the pizza at a higher tax rate than the one presented.

All those make sense and are pretty common: bread is taxed lower than most pizza toppings. Raw ingredients are taxed less than ready-to-eat or sugar-coated ultra-processed good. And I'm totally ok with that.

I do think it heavily depends on what kind of salary you are looking for. Not sure how it is jn NZ but perhaps they pay less than in the US, and hence it's less competitive to remote outsiders?

Exactly, I think that's the main difference. Before you had to be together, now people need the foresight to value in-person activities as well as wanting to play together. That's a combination which makes many not make the cut.

I wonder what could be today's alternative to the environments of LAN parties of early 00s (I never attended to previous ones). Even if one were to recreate the events, I feel lots of the activities of these meetings (meeting the selec

If I can get 100 lines generated instantly while explaining it in 25, scan the answer just to validate it and then, no wait, add other 50 lines as I forgot something before. All that in minutes then I'm happy. Plus I can detach the &qu

Thanks! Yeah, I wanted to recreate the birdwatching experience and felt that the call was a crucial element to make this a truly multimedia experience and not just another word guessing game.

Thanks for the feedback! Ideally, even people not familiar with birds should get better after doing it for a while :D Let me know what your dad thinks of it!

I wouldn't say so: introversion is to feel recharged when being alone. So one could be really eager to socialise but find it terrifying to approach (social anxiety), especially if many unknown people are involved.

I'd imagine the keyword is "have to attend". If you truly have no choice then who's to blame you but if you decide to show up to a party and then proceed to walk around and look at the furniture all night then maybe you

This sounds interesting, do you have more information on what you pivoted into? I'm interested in doing something like world schooling and this sounds it might be related.

Incorrect, it clearly belongs to you if there is an agreement with the transfer of such rights otherwise you are in murky waters. LLMs are not individuals automatically covered by copyright laws, as they are simply tools based off other (of

Dunno but RTFA was always presented to me in the less kind version, so it's pretty odd to see it when someone uses it in its positive spin.

I'd love to hear so much more from your experience! I'm on the fence about this topic and hearing from someone who has had more than 2 might help generalise how having a kid could be. For me, it feels like one of the few things I&

Sorry to hear you're going through that. It does sound like having someone to open up and talk to, even someone you pay (i.e. A therapist), could help. This is especially true if many crucial things around you sound to be positive. All

Just to remind people, there is no snapping out of anything. There is the statistical search space of LLMs and you can nudge it to different directions to return different outputs; there is no will in the result.

I think for most places in the world, tea is an activity done at home with own cups/glasses. Or at least, say in China/Taiwan, the heated tea gets made cold in steel containers and then served cold in plastic cups (e.g. For milk t

Just for your information, the attitude in this comment makes it hard to actually engage it in a serious conversation. It does have "conspiracy uncle" vibes and so people might avoid replying. Maybe that's your goal all along
