From what I learnt from other travelling families: - Be a team - Learn effective communication (verbal and non-verbal) - Be a team And if they are very young (less than 6yo or so), you will need to teach them to be calm in most situations a

As a lifelong traveller, $2000 will generally last me 1-6 months, depending on the country. Paying that per night means you are not the kind of traveller the author or many of us are, the name is probably vacationeer or something like that.

As tradition, the developers see themselves as gods on earth who cannot be given any sort of feedback without hurting their ego. Many other open source tools are beloved and used despite their flaws. Gimp is not built for anyone who isn

Same here. Affinity is great, it has some quirk and some basic features are scattered around the UI without seemingly much thought. But every time I have to use Gimp is just a pain, feels like going back in time. For such a complex tool, UX

Unfortunate that the examples they provide were absolutely terrible and robotic. It put me off from actually trying it, I might reconsider.

I think I'd only go back as an intangible ghost, unaffected by disease, needs and danger. Basically I'm imagining a VR with an immersive window to the past, not actually going back.

Fun article, the one thing the stood out was the diss at javascript from the "bioinformatician". Don't they use python for literally any which moves? A language which is ironically slower than JS?

Wait, so I take a screenshot of something and this gives it an edge, drop shadow and a background with some pattern? I can do that probably quicker on, say, Affinity or Figma and definitely better. The real question though is: does it use A

I'd say that it is still the same today but the same tools can be used to make AAA games. The sheer amount of games made by under 20s is definitely higher today than back then, and I'd argue the quality of it too.

I think it's a bad example if people strictly focus on their own personal principles, which most people don't really care about. People who grew up making their first games in BASIC didn't really know or care of the implicati

The golden age is always behind us. I personally believe that we are in the golden age right now: literally anyone can pickup and make games. Game dev is actually something you can learn on your own and do. Back in the 90s it was all locked

Is it energy waste if it does something productive? For me, energy waste is energy which, if not used, wouldn't have any noticeable impact. For instance, most city lights are on even when nobody needs them (using smart activators would

Fats are definitely the easiest way to mess up counting, especially when a lot of people can't compute not cooking without oil/butter. If the goal is losing weight, I found that maximising volume (e.g. Minimising calory density) w

I think dextrose or also called "grape sugar" is very commonly used in Italy to get decrease the freezing point without feeling o overly sweet. The sweetness intensity is different across different types of sugar.

I know this is a simplified version but sugar is not detailed enough (different types of sugar, like dextrose), also I see no mention of carob seeds, also very important to get a creamy texture.
