I like working from my office even though I have a long commute. It's because I have a toddler at home, so it's hard to get work done there. The commute is the most peaceful time of my day and allows me to get a lot of studying

In a non-Typescript project, they're a shoddy half-baked type system duct-taped together. In a Typescript project, they're almost completely redundant, they add a huge maintenance burden for basically no gain.

The paradox of the heap[1] shows that vagueness is an inherent, inescapable part of reality. Machine learning would provide a way around that paradox: a heap is what a neural network says is a heap! If this worked, it would be too good to

mikegerwitz is technically right. As an illuminating example, consider a hash-algorithm in which there's at least one hash that occurs precisely once. Then a 2nd-preimage attack is formally impossible no matter how much computational

Three years ago, Machine Learning on a resume meant: "Good candidate." Currently, it means: "Jumps on bandwagons, caution." In three years, it'll mean: "Brainless buzzwords, avoid."

Ever tried hunting for a job in academia? There are hundreds of super-qualified U.S. candidates for every opening. If your friend's so amazing she beats all of them, 130k is a steal.
