Others doing it doesn't make it morally any better, though others thought like you do... like all the axis powers doing their fair share of deportations and gulags.

Now this world starting to feel more and more like a Gibson novel - while we had been promised it's going to be an Asimov one. I feel cheated somehow.

Can someone compare it with ts-node? If I get it right, ts-node is just a transpiler, but deno runs "proper" ts?

`npm i` breaks. Then we delete the lock file (and usually node_modules), run npm i again and it works. Probably it works for you and we are just unlucky or we were too lazy to use some cli magic, dunno. Yarn people here (at the company) usu

My thoughts exactly. We are one step away from very bad shit hitting the fan in a very painful way... so let's pretend everything's fine and try not to think about these things.

Since they introduced package locks `npm i` breaks way too often for us (we have win-mac-linux machines), it's a royal pain in the back.

Okay, I appreciate npm and everything, but nowdays new versions come out on a weekly basis yet something still breaks, either locally or in the CI for us. This made me fear two things the most lately: `npm i` and `npm i -g npm`.

Thanks, didn't know about part and theme - and again, I'm not sure if I like it. For example angular puts [innerHTML] into a shadow container - let's assume we are talking about arbitrary localized text from a cms, heavily sa

What I really loved is that how easy it was to write directly to the video buffer (320x200 256), it was ultra fast and I could even make simple games and shiny stuff :) Not sure if it's possible to do that outside dosbox anymore.

Oh boy, this brings back memories. First c64 basic, then a bit of a qbasic, but then I started fiddling with turbo pascal and I still miss the sheer speed and debug capabilities fo the IDE (compared to modern frontend development). I just h

Yep. At my current place HR allowed me to go and see the doctor if I tell them well in advance and overwork the missing hours. Funny thing is that I'm very diligent and if they asked me how I feel about _helping them out on the project
