Could be they slashed a bunch of features, but I wouldn't be surprised if they replaced a bunch of homebrewed frameworks with third party equivalents. "Line count" is such a vague measure, it's easy to get counter-intuit

FWIW, recycling is not "impossible" if the trash is not pre-sorted by the people throwing it away, it's just harder for the people who have to do the final sort (presumably someone is there at the end correcting the mistakes

It's not that it would work by accident, it would be more like it works by a principle to which our physics is a good enough approximation.

I'm not sure it does make that assumption - if you could arbitrarily exchange hours for money, then you could calculate out how man fewer hours to work and do that, but otherwise you just have a benefit function with discontinuities

Well, Cloudflare is a US company where no political ideologies are criminal, and I'm personally of the opinion that if your political order is so fragile that it can't survive the free expression of some reprehensible ideas, you&#

Yeah, this is downright shocking to me. They make a free speech argument when it comes to censoring criminal commercial content, but political content they're OK with shutting down? Seems exactly backwards from what most companies do.

I'm not sure this is a bad thing. You should have a different password for each site anyway, so the fact that it disrupts your ability to reuse passwords is an accidental pseudo-feature.

In what way did they learn not to piss off open source programmers? I don't see any obvious quantifiable consequences, just some loss of reputation, as you'll get if you piss off any group...

Interesting - it seems that the more measured (privacy) advice should be: "don't use BitTorrent unless you know that your client implements the protocol in a privacy-protecting way". It seems that the protocol itself is not

Why? I don't think BitTorrent is actually a privacy threat, for the most part, it would just put undue load on the Tor network if everyone were doing it.

Complete clickbait, and inaccurate. One could just as well say a bank robber was arrested for opening the door, because that was the first step in robbing the bank. What's worst about the idea that he was "arrested for pressing F1

I guess if you log in, yeah. I keep my browsing highly compartmentalized, so I don't log in to Google for the purpose of searches. I used URL parameters to turn it off, but they don't persist.
