One of my coworkers just quit cannabis after having an addiction for several years. Her and her (unemployed) husband were spending upwards of $300 a week on it, more than 40% of her pay. Had never been able to save for a house or anything,

Sounds like you're the least lucky person on earth. I've had my MacBook Air for 5 years now, I've dropped it on concrete/tiles multiple times, it's dented as hell and the battery's wearing a bit, but it works j

And I'm sure the US thought that the technologically poor North Vietnamese would fall quickly too. You can't underestimate the role of the people's ideological identity when it comes to taking over a country.

Just an aside, the repo complains about the length of curl's manpage, but that's what I love about it. Fond memories of sitting on the train home from uni, and browsing big long manpages looking for interesting new options to try

Some of them can run Javascript, I'm thinking specifically of people who write scrapers in things like PhantomJS (headless browser, very very cool software).

RE the phone number thing, isn't that common knowledge? You can type in any phone number, and if their privacy settings allow it, their profile pops up.

What the hell setting do you have enabled where OS X does that? It doesn't even tell me about updates, I have to go check them manually in the App Store (which segfaults about half the time)
