Right, because nothing inspires risk taking in a corporation like a good old fashioned witch hunt. I agree with you in that this is a shitty thing for MS to do (hell, I was one of the first ones to write a blog post explaining how to undo i

Excellent! But too bad it's a blog post and not a wiki. It's missing a few that I know of, including this NYCSeed.

I know this is blasphemy (being on Y Combinator news, and all), but someone should compile a list of all these funding programs. I think it'd be helpful for all of us.

What are the advantages of homemade PCB boards over wire-wrap? Is compactness the only advantage?

I see what you're saying, and I do miss the days of Firefox 0.6. However, the minimalist browsers (Chrome, Firefox pre-1.0, etc.) aren't enough for constant use. Have you given up Firefox?

If they could "explain to you how to solve the problem or what went wrong" then they wouldn't need to show a vague error message. They'd just fix the problem.

You're confusing the "secret" Walt is referring to. He's not talking about intellectual property. He's talking about the so called "secret to success".

I think the whole point of the article is that it doesn't matter. You've got your own unique radio with your own unique dials. Start twisting.

GIMP vs. Photoshop isn't just about features. It's about polish. I don't think I'll be able to convince you of this, but proprietary apps are usually more polished than the open source counterparts. I'm talking about every sense of the word
