This is unfair. In an uncaring universe, humans have done quite well. The world was never “fixed” for us to break, and it never will be. The fact most of us live in civil societies of any kind is a miracle or the first order. I get frustrat

Yes, it was slower. And that slower speed gave more time for people to reflect, to calm down, to see if their moral passions had longevity. I think social media has perfect “outrage” because it can be so immediate. There’s no time for coole

This is one of the primary reasons I stay off of social media. There is not forgetting, no opportunity to learn and grow and change and develop.

I, for one, love living in a world where this is a pressing concern. And may it become more so!

I switched to Jellyfin because Plex refuses to just show me the files in my directory. Why can’t you just let me have a directory view? Makes my blood boil just topping it out.

In my experience, you learn how to use a regular keyboard. Then you learn to use an ergonomic keyboard. Then you finally also need to learn how to switch back and forth. Three separate skill sets. But all very learnable.

I agree with everything except your last sentence. Much CAN be done to ensure those biases do not manifest in the results of their work. More generally, this is the power of our institutions.
