The eye tracking part was pretty radical. I mean, it's starting to get into VR headsets but just for focusing the processing power to an area. Not specific UI interactions like this person posed. That seemed pretty novel to me.

I would like both as well. I can see value in tags but I am thinking from a developer perspective, I'm not sure how I would target a specific file in my code without a tree structure? Maybe I just haven't thought about this enough

I think you are setting up a bit of a straw man argument. The parent comment said "existing designs." While you apparently refuting their statement, you are saying something different by jumping to "existing products." P

Just because you are at sea level, you can't suddenly float stuff in the air. I like your optimism though. :) I was imaging a floating city like cloud city in star wars [0]. [0] https://www.starwars.com/databank/cl

I don't think this is an accurate analogy. The computer's space-time and your space-time are the same in this analogy. The space-time that our universe exists in would not be the same as the space-time that some extra-universe pro

I was recently thinking about why I've made any posts on Medium. I'm also going to launch a product soon and have been kicking around whether to create our own blog, use Medium, or use some other option. I think there are two main

To me, a generalist is someone who does have skill in application not just knowledge about topics. At least in my world of software engineering for the internet.

Are there concerns amongst these companies about the lack of hardware updates to products like this by Apple? What hardware are these companies using at the moment? iMac Pros? And before that they were using 2013 Mac Pros? I think there was

I know nothing about "reference grade" monitors. Can anyone comment on the veracity of the only competing product for this new monitor costing $30,000?

I'm not totally sure how the rating system works but I think that behavior could get you locked out pretty quickly? I would think giving a low rating for the ride is still effective and doesn't jeopardize your ability to still use

Your comment contradicts itself. It wasn't always called iOS if it was called iPhone OS "for a very short period of time." And the period of time was not "very short" by my definition at least. According to [0]: >

Every transaction with Bitcoin is subject to capital gains tax. There is a penalty for using it to purchase things. It's a little silly to try to explain why people don't "use" Bitcoin and skip over that fact.

I've always seen this as an over-simplification that leads down an incorrect path of thinking. It "doesn't exist" if you think the only thing that has an effect on the economy is the number of dollars in circulation at a

This seems like a question that has previously been answered and that is why we register software copyright as a literary work. It seems unless actual text was copied, it's not a violation. I've recently started learning more abou

Interesting. I was thinking it was like google copy and pasted oracle's code, kept the function definitions and then re-wrote the innards. To me if code is truly treated as a literary work then it doesn't really matter how the end

It seems if they wrote their own code from scratch but it defined a similar API then that wouldn't be covered by a copyright. My understanding is that is what basically happened when they began treating code as a literary work.

I'm looking for a distinction between code and an API. I think that the code that defined the APIs is copyrightable. If someone copied that code, it seems relatively cut and dry. Now if someone produced a similar interface but with ent

An API is more than a table of contents. When I write a method and give it a name and define what parameters it accepts, that is just as much part of the code as the inner workings of the method itself. I'm not a big fan of copyrightin

My understanding is that code is treated basically as a literary work [0] with copyrighting. So the API definition is a part of the codebase. I do not think the analogy to copyrighting an idea is applicable. Unless they are trying to separa
