How is tying to "make people spend as much time on a site as possible" is a conspiratorial hypothesis?

I'm in the same camp. It seems the "news", in general, is a buffer overflow of malicious information that serves to override our logical thought processes with negative emotions and irrational tendencies.

How about the US government in the 1960's conceding to civil rights demands in order to avoid a violent revolution?

Do you have any savings? Now might be a perfect time to take some time off work, travel, and/or figure out what you want to do with your life. Many people with a spouse and children will never have that opportunity

It would seem so (though it shouldn't be). IIRC the Sony hack was attributed to NK because they found some NK IP addresses in comments in the code.

It's not reasonable, it's short sighted if you consider the long train of such "acceptable" abuses pursuing invariably the same end goal

Maybe because we're talking about Google? Seems like whenever Google is called into question on HN I've noticed a lot of appeals to authority and people defending them to a fault.

How is labor productivity relevant to whether or not a job is "bullshit"? If a ditch digger adopts new technology, their labor productivity increases, but that doesn't mean their job isn't bullshit

I've found that any questioning of the technical details of the government narrative on this matter is met with a flood of downvotes but never an actual valid counter argument. You raise some valid points

I agree with your premise but would nitpick against calling mental illnesses (in the psychiatric sense) pathologies. >pathology: the science of the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the lab

Email spam filters handle things well I think. Instead of completely censorsing/hiding things from you, suspected spam is placed in a folder that you can view and decide for yourself whether or not it's worth your attention.
