I interpreted the essay differently. The article claims that, early on in the hiring process, women get filtered based on attractiveness. As they move up in the organization, they then get filtered based on ability. So, the reason that we s

There are some people offering websites and other packages for resale on eBay, of all places. Flippa might be a good source for web-based stuff. Otherwise, can you be more specific about what you're looking for?

"You might then ask why in the USA is this being left to a search company?" Because of the liability involved in the American legal environment. I've long suspected that Europe, Japan, or Korea will beat the US to commercially viable driver

I really like the "cell phone that connects to multiple networks" idea. Not just for the ability to make the cheapest call, but for the ability to make a call from anywhere that has reception from any provider. I wonder if that could pave

Aboytsov wants to rebuild the target and everything that depends on the target , not rebuild the target and everything that the target depends on . He wants to walk the dependency tree in the opposite direction.

Offering models with extra ports sounds like it would be an awesome way to price segment your customers. The enterprise people have already figured this out, I don't know why the consumer people haven't.

Wow. If an employer asks me to provide a breaksown of my personal expenses, I'm going to be very uncomfortable. That's none of your business. If I'm going to adjust my lifestyle to fit your salary, I'm going to do it by myself, thank you ve

I would say: Whenever you have a hard performance target that you must hit, and pure C can't meet that target. Every game, including Doom 3, has some targeted minimum frame rate that the developers want it to run at. (This target can be any

I'm 26. I've had one young woman on OKC make the first move and ask me out, so I suspect you're right that 20-somethings are more willing to date online. (Since I'm sure everyone is curious now: Neither one of us wanted a second date. Yeah.

I would argue that if declaring up-front versus declaring as-needed makes a significant difference in readability, then your functions are too long.

Thinking out loud here: Being able to click and drag (or swipe on a touch device) on the divider itself would be helpful. And I agree with the comments that the divider itself doesn't provide enough of a visual cue about what's going on. I'

If you scroll using a touchpad the divider moves exactly one text line at a time. The problem is "clicky" mouse wheels that try to enforce their own units of movement.

Have you ever tried reading a web page over a person's shoulder while they occasionally scroll up and down? It's really jarring (though turning on Firefox's "smooth scrolling" helps.) I'm not sure that I like the results of this experiment,

Actually, for civilian (or police) purposes I'd like to see a system that lets you mark targets that you don't want to hit, then automatically prevents you from shooting at or near them when you're aiming at your real target.
