It can work that way and is described right below the xkcd comic. He does it with a separate process running on the local machine and the javascript uses a localhost connection to talk with it.

Absolutely. Much easier to shop at Amazon than before. They still have a long way to go to compete with Walmart in this area. Just pointing out the target audience for this change.

This is another round of the "Amazon vs Walmart" war. People without banks or credit cards currently shop at Walmart. Now it is much easier for them to shop at Amazon.

Regretfully steam does _not_ use p2p downloads. People running lan parties would be so much happier if steam would just do a lan broadcast to look for local copies of a game before downloading. (a very limited form of p2p) They already ha

You are doing a pretty huge service to the IPFS project just by trying to use it at this scale. I would love a blog post giving your experiences using it. One of my main complaints about IPFS is that it is very hard to have visibility into

GCC and, I would assume, Clang both support -fprofile-generate and -fprofile-use. But these are based on a trace of actual execution, not a function use profile like implied by the article. But the article may be after a ELI5 filter.
