Completely unrelated to the point you’re making, but the phrase is “booby trap”; I believe it originates from pranks played on younger schoolboys in 1600s England (the etymology of booby being the Spanish “bobo”).

I’ve not run “python3” in years on my Mac, and I’m almost certain I never type it into Linux machines either; either I’m losing my mind, or there are some ludicrous takes in this thread.

By letting you specify a language version requirement? Not exactly backwards compatible (because it is explicitly not, as per the article). Python doesn’t make breaking changes in non-major versions, so as mentioned by the upthread comment

My favourite one of these is “That that is is that that is not is not is that it it is”, which can take on a few meanings depending on how you distribute the punctuation. My favourite punctuated form is “That that is, is. That that is not,

You should take CineStill's BwXX for a spin too, really nice film. I'm a big fan of 400D/800T too but shoot way more B&W than I do colour (primarily Kodak Tri-X 400). EDIT: Shameless plug! https://www.instagram

In that scenario you’d already be in normal mode, no? It’s likely OP’s mapping is only for editing modes.

Maybe the brits who want quiet aren’t going to bars in Munich to seek it out? What a fucking ridiculous means to back up an equally ridiculous statement.

FYI on Apple Maps you can tap once then tap again and hold then slide your finger up/down on the map to control the zoom level.

I had the same thought reading the parent comment. My most upvoted comment on HN is a single word joke (that blurs the lines between English and Spanish) and if I’m completely honest I’m still quite proud of it, especially being someone who

Opt-cmd-shift-v is the (rather unwieldy) macOS shortcut to paste without formatting. I have cmd-shift-v mapped to my clipboard history which is fully searchable, I use Raycast on Mac but I would wager there are Linux and Windows alternative

Sorry but this is bullshit and putting the onus on the wrong person. “No” is a complete sentence and I don’t see the problem with using it, if you do (after say, I’ve asked for you a slice of cake) but can’t think of another phrasing (“I’m

My CV is styled as a manpage and always seemed to be well received by technical interviewers. I’m not sure how successful it would be with recruitment agents though. The first time it landed me a job, I eventually went to introduce myself t

Another vote for Hugo from me, except I use GitHub Actions to handle deployments: both on merge and scheduled so we can forward-date posts and not have to remember to publish them.

Are glencairns not common in the states? Whilst most pubs in the UK would serve me a whisky in a short tumbler style glass, I would be disappointed if a decent scotch bar did not at least offer me a choice.

I once sent a parcel to a friend and put “England, UK. Earth. Solar System. (Etc)” at the end of the address and it arrived at his house with “don’t take the piss” scribbled on it in red marker.

It’s worth noting a K6 weighs in at about 1,250kg so “collect in person” is easier said than done! Personally I’d go with a specialist/approved company such as x2connect.

You’re clearly determined to twist my words, I don’t particularly care what Amazon or Facebook think and have never claimed otherwise. Hell, I haven’t even defended either of your examples.
