I love a good semicolon, and it tickled me that your quote could be rewritten to include one. > We know these things are hard to use properly; we’ll teach you how to do it, but it is usually better just to rewrite what you are trying to

Well it proves that “singular they” is acknowledged by the OED, pretty much the authority of the English language, as being in common use from circa 1300. If you think Websters is older or more authoritative than the OED (or that the OED is

With extremely limited availability, the best you can get in most places is 1.8Gbps down and 120Mbps up isn’t it? I know OpenReach have recently announced a 1Gbps symmetric service but I’m not aware of any ISPs offering it yet and the whole

Again, I have to disagree - which I suppose reinforces the whole subjectivity angle. I was positive that Zaphod’s two heads were side-by-side to the extent that it pissed me off a fair bit in the most recent movie adaption (among, let’s fac

I love the idea, but I feel like I have to say that I’ve got a pretty solid idea of what the total perspective vortex would look like for someone being subjected to it. When I first read the books I immediately had a visual and that has nev

It only works with approved transit providers and you have to explicitly enable it so the exposure is fairly limited. https://www.apple.com/uk/apple-pay/transport/

Maybe I’m not understanding properly, but iPhones absolutely can do NFC payments when the phone is dead. Your nominated “express” card will work for transit payments, and I believe car and house keys continue to work too.

In case you are unaware, the hhgttg “trilogy” is actually 5 (or 6, depending on your view) books long. “So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish” and “Mostly Harmless” are definitely worth a read!

What sort of fucking shithole backwards country locks people up for weeks (including over a week in solitary!) for arriving with an invalid visa? If you think that is a proportional response you are a nasty, nasty person.
