They did Turbo Pascal dirty with those icons... I get that Borland C++ also was blue/yellow for the DOS versions (looks like they stopped the DOS version of it in 1993 with version 4). And I assume these were from the early days of Wi

I do my best to filter ai topics here using ublock, and it's blocked about a third of the posts, and yet every day there's a new variation, whether a new technique/technology, a new product (open source or commercial), etc...

You're compensating the youtube video creators for this, how? Are you asking their permission? Or is this similar to how all the AI scammers operate and just extracting value from other peoples work without compensation? Just curious

Yep - never buying from them again. They've always been hostile to emulation but the past couple years have been even more ridiculous than normal from them. I don't need another Mario game while forking over yet more money that

I got bit by linux audio issues after moving from Win10 to CachyOS (arch based distro). It seemed to be working fine, but I noticed when switching to speakers a terrible digital distortion that wasn't there previously. (I'm not a

Haha i had a 486/dx2-66 laptop and my first try using linux was in 1997 with Debian Bo, IIRC. Downloading over 28.8 modem (maybe it was 56k at that point?) took a LOOOOOONG time, and then trying to get XFree86 to work was no luck with

Yeah I realized that as I went to the site. Egg on face, I'm a big disgrace... (etc etc). Also boo to me for going against the "site vibes" here. I will admit I could have been a bit more chill about the issue.

I hate name collisions and this sort of thing only reinforces my ire. It doesn't help that I'm already team anti-AI, but it would annoy me regardless of the tech. Why don't people even bother to look and be original? (I fe

Not particularly relevant to the core article, but just a dumb thought re: the LSP/LS annoyance mentioned in the intro. I think maybe some of it stems from 'ls' the command. If I saw something called py-ls instead of py-lsp,

Yeah that was my first thing. Wait a minute you run a compiler on it? It's literally compiled code, not direct. Which is fine, but yeah, overselling what it is/does. Still cool, but I would definitely ease back the first claim.
