I think at this point there have been more debunked reports of Russian influence from our own propaganda organs than actual Russian influence. Not that you're wrong, they're trying, but we are just so much bigger.

There's still a huge blind spot in the west when it comes to "our" propaganda. You never see the BBC or Radio Free Asia get the "state owned media" tag on social media that's applied to anything Russian or Chi

China is unique in that their biggest acquisitions of land came from being conquered and then assimilating their conquerors (Mongol and Manchu). It would be erroneous to say that later events retroactively made Genghis Khan Chinese.

Amazing to watch the trends skyrocket after 2018 when the media started turning against China. I suppose it's possible that all of those people are deeply clued into the details of Xi's increasing authoritarianism, but it seems mo

If academia is overwhelmingly biased in one direction, and a free speech org is documenting cases of suppression.. then of course most of the cases they document will exhibit that bias. It doesn't necessarily follow that they're

I was referring to professional DEI people and did not use the word "you" in that sentence. Are you one? That would track with the quality of this discussion, actually. Seriously, watch the video I posted and think about it. Con

I didn't accuse you of anything besides putting words in people's mouths. Watch the video, it's short and I think it would be enlightening. ("We" meant software engineers)

One of my principles is to be really suspicious of tribalism, especially the kind where they're putting words in the other tribe's mouth. Consider: https://youtu.be/rE3j_RHkqJc

You posted accusing people of some pretty racist hypothetical behavior. It's not charitable.

So I didn't post anything about cancer. And nobody posted that they really hope they don't sit next to a black guy. Maybe this tendency to demand total fealty or level accusations of racism is alienating people from your movement?

Sure, but that argument also applies for GC. I suppose there's a window where you can't tolerate GC pauses but can have exceptions allocating memory unpredictably, but it's a pretty small window.
