MyPaint and Krita are actually both great programs for digital painting. David Revoy is an artist who uses both (and also created one of the brush sets for MyPaint) and his work is worth looking at: http://www.davidrevoy.com/2-portfolio.ht

There's also an Arch PKGBUILD on AUR for anyone using Arch. Seems to work on my 64-bit Arch installation. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/netflix-desktop-bin/

If you're talking about the Verizon Galaxy Nexus being dropped from the AOSP you should know it was brought back into it. Personally I use a custom rom anyway but the Galaxy Nexus is on Verizon and you can download the latest builds from G

The Arduino is based around Atmel's 8 bit AVR architecture which really doesn't have what it takes to run a JVM. The ATmega328P which the Arduino Uno board uses has 32KB of code space and 2KB of SRAM which isn't really enough for something

Arduino is C/C++. It's mostly a C++ abstraction built on top of the avr-libc library. The Arduino IDE is written in Java though.

I doubt anyone here really needs it but here's a C program that demonstrates all three functions in a terminal. Just making a global array and a macro for setPixel is enough to play with these and is really pretty much all I did. https://

True and false are actually defined as 1 and 0 respectively. I don't have a copy of the standard but this specifies true and false as macros. http://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/007904975/basedefs/stdb... Edit: Of course I'm talking ab

The classic CLRS Algorithms book actually starts out with a five chapter "Foundations" part that goes over computational complexity in a good amount of detail. It goes over theta, big and small O, and big and small omega notations and thei

I've been using Macs since the 80s and I'm with you. I've felt so ashamed of what Apple has become I covered the Apple logo on my MacBook Pro. I use Linux instead of Mac OS already but that's more of a preference thing than anything else.

I've been working on a sculpture project[1] based on cellular automaton for the past two semesters. It's not exactly conway's game of life as I'm mostly focused on polygonal cells. Hardware wise it's mostly just LEDs with shift registers

C++ doesn't coerce the void* malloc returns into an int* , C does. You have to write int* foo = (int*)malloc(sizeof(int)); in C++ or the compiler gives a type error.

I've found that simply reading the documentation[1] was enough to get started. The package reference[2] was pretty easy to understand after going through it. I would also make sure you're running the current RC and using the information a

Agreed completely. I'm doing a decent amount of development with MCUs these days and really like having a minimal abstraction. It's easier to think about what the hardware is doing when you're only slightly removed from the assembly; what

A very interesting data structure. Reading this inspired me to give an implementation a try. It was a lot harder than it seemed at first and it's certainly a naive attempt but if anyone is interested you can take a look at it here: https

Have you tried using SCP? I don't know if Windows comes with a client but a quick search turned up a few options. It is my goto method for transferring files these days but I admittedly don't use Windows.

It sounds like we have a similar approach to honesty. The way I see it the distinction between honesty and dishonesty is entirely in the intent. What is being communicated isn't always the literal thing being said. The same sort of inter
