I mean; if there was a company that would capable of doing it... but yah this feels like a false equivalency. Private companies are free to refuse service to anyone; unless there is specific legislation to the contrary.

Seems to be another faked "hack" of Parler. Does Twilio even have a user management component? Why is the explanation of the hack a jumbled mess? I'll believe it when after private convos are leaked.

Private companies just want to act in their best interest. Call it what you will, no one wants to be associated with them; and as such they get removed. Amazon, Google, Facebook, et.al. owe Parler exactly nothing.

When you have enough liquid capital (see: fiat) to not worry about day to day expenses. I fail to see how this is any different then someone asking to get paid in another investment vehicle. Why not gold? Why not stocks?

For sure; that's why people reiterate the 99%+ metric. This isn't a cataclysmic virus that will wipe out life on earth, but it will tax health care systems far beyond what they're capable of handling. It will devastate econom

Because even those who are vehement supporters of lockdowns/wide spread health measures understand that this only affects a small percentage of those who contract it. We don't need examples of people who had no issues, 99%+ of peo

For sure; and I'm not saying we should give people carte blanch. But those mistakes, errors, whatever we want to call them, are the exception, not the rule. Do you distrust your co-workers if they make a single mistake?

I live in a country with socialized medicine. People trust the healthcare system since we "pay" 0$ for access. (pay in quotes since obviously taxes are significantly higher) And Drs. I know are great at listening! I'd honestl

Unclear why this is relevant to HackerNews? For what its worth, it looks like the Ruqqus "space" is dead as well? 33 members? Looks like the admin for the subreddit got mad and decided to kick everyone out since he could.

You value your life less as you get old; however, much like religion, we should not be forcing our own views on everyone else. There are plenty of elderly who would love nothing more then to continuing to see their children, and their child
