This is such a shame. I was pissed enough when they killed the desktop app. Why not just make the iPad version available on Mac? Continued enshittification at Meta. I don't care about privacy/encryption for my group chats and neit

I agree it's MUCH better than it used to be (and huge credit to Jen Simmons and her team for making this possible). However Safari APIs are still WAY behind Chrome/Android and I think this is probably intentional to push developer

While I'm a huge Svelte fan, this project hasn't really gotten very much care and attention over the last few years. Which is honestly fine. React and React Native I think do a much better job of filling the niche of people who wa

We get so much power from just setting global scoped styles like this it's so strange to me that more of these patterns aren't common or included in minimal css frameworks. With all the recent criticism of tailwind, css-in-js, and

I spent about half my year in Japan and half my year in Sweden and I speak both languages. It's always shocked me how many expats feel it's not necessary to speak the language but the justifications are totally different. In Swede

I'm sorry but this is blatantly false also. The Commonwealth of Nations is a political association as stated in that article you posted but the member nations are not vassals and the queen does not serve as head of state for any of the

Because unlike Google, Apple is a California and especially Cupertino centric company so most of their employees have probably never used mapping outside the confines of their car. Transit and walking directions are decent on Apple Maps but

I live in Göteborg but there are other things than relative salary that make Sweden attractive. I think it depends a lot on what you want out of life. The US or Canada might be good for some people. If you want to maximize your salary relat

It's a very different pace of work. I really loved working at a startup but there were some months where I was working 60-70 hours a week to get something shipped because runway was short. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun but I pre

It's all right but the housing market is absolutely insane. I was paying 1600 CAD for a 50 sq ft apartment. The public transportation was also awful. TTC is a joke. I also wasn't a big fan of the culture of the city. Lots of finan
