First time on HN? There are like 2 new Apple security or privacy issues every week. You know about PRISM/edward snowden? You can verify all of this with almost no effort. Any links I post you won't believe. It's up to you.

Directly contradicting current Apple Marketing. I lothe Apple(and other unethical companies) for lying in their ads. Any benefits of macOS are instantly gone because you cannot Trust Apple to tell the truth. It's as unreliable as Googl

I'm a globalist but I'll give some reasons to treat China different. When you buy or use a computer product from China, you also gave a medical company in China money. When businesses are majority owned by the CCP, you are buying

Basically 669 changed the cap with almost 0 oversight. It was after the fact people freaked out.

That might have worked in 2010, but when it comes to bot detection it's You vs Big Company. I recently lost the battle of defeating a bot detector.

Wait until you realize your company is taking screenshots of your desktop to make sure you actually are working. I've never been worried as my long breaks are necessary for Programming. I always get the job done. My biggest concerns ar

Yeah these things show uselessness when you have a senior engineer that's swamped but shows unproductive. I've recently felt guilty walking away from my desk to think about a Programming problem. I used to do this all the time but

Do what big corporations do. Buy old accounts and astroturf. Aldi had great success posting "hauls" until they were caught astroturfing. They likely are still doing similar but smarter with their accounts.

The rule only Applies to small businesses. Big companies buy accounts that have been used for years.

I like monero, but these are complete different use cases. Ethereum wants to be a database, monero wants to be a currency.

Yes this is precisely the issue. I don't mind various types of currency, but when you buy 50 of the ~100M ethereum you expect it to remain somewhat proportional in value. That didn't happen, mere years after its launch they blew t

I stopped trusting ethereum after EIP669. Ethereum used to have a soft cap of 100M coins. They removed the cap. Ethereum is no Bitcoin. It's more akin to dogecoin/fiat with its infinite money. Hope POS works so Bitcoin can adopt i

There's a phrase "where there is rot, there is more" You bet Apple has arranged bribes across the world and companies. Not saying any specific FAANG is better, but there seems to be a crowd of people who repeat commercials ab

How does this work in practice? You wipe the OS and install Linux or Windows? I'm not really kidding, any steps into Apple's ecosystem is dangerous given their poor track record on Customer Service, Privacy, hardware costs, hardwa

Second hand and Mac minis need to be replaced often for development purposes. Apple knows what they are doing.

Let me know when I can make Apps without giving Apple $2000. As a note I feel especially bad for the (global) poor who can't access 100% of humans because Apple charges luxury pricing.

"Privacy" is just a marketing word for low information consumers. Those that need privacy won't use Apple. Edit- What's wrong? Serious privacy users are going to use an obscure Linux distro. Don't believe the Apple
