Our focusing on the client doesn't mean you can't use Dart on the server. In fact, we (the Flutter team) use it on the server. Analogy: JavaScript is focused on the client too, but people also use it on the server.

I love Polymer too, but if you are like me the parts you like most about Polymer are the beautiful widgets and the ability to create new widgets. Flutter provides that for mobile apps. As someone else said, Polymer itself is just a web impl
