What's really interesting is that studios may be able to make the first round of oculus games very cheaply. The resolution is lower than typical on PC games, framerate is important, and the experience is very different. So I bet they c

The real solution to this is to open up some kind of bond market for majors. Bundle up a bunch of student loans by major and create a partly public partly private debt obligations. Schools have far too much incentive to lie about the value

They're probably trying to track teens who are involved politically. They want to know when they turn 18. Asking for a Zodiac Sign is less creepy than asking for a birthday.

At the same time I understand why it would be more confusing for newbies. In a language that already has string interpolation you're telling them to use a crappier custom version of string interpolation that's safe for databases.

Static languages haven't "won". There's just not much point in creating a new dynamic language. Ruby is flexible enough to turn into a DSL for whatever. Python does it's job very well. Lua has it's niche. Java

Could you be more specific? The only issue I've heard about was that in an old format you could see which sites had saved passwords. That's more of a privacy issue than a security leak.

3D GUIs are a lot like graphical programming. Just a giant black hole that has been sucking up research and investment money for 30 years without much to show. You do get some neat demos, but not a lot else.

I think that's probably the right move. Often the people using a product don't have any authority to make a purchase. In those cases management won't spend a dime until the employees can show the product is critical.
