This was a fascinating and humbling read, and only after reading did I realize this was almost 3 years old… What are they animating now? Snowstorms with individual unique flakes?

It's slowly moving out of the hobbyist realm though - there has been a consistent output of "stable" releases with very little problems upgrading. One reason it hasn't gotten much traction yet might be because the percei

Regarding the laziness, i kick while scooting, making it go faster which is very dynamic and lots of fun, although it doesn't seem to impact the range.

I have a twin model, the Stryder Zoom, and my experience is similar. I get 16 km out of a charge, which is exactly my daily commute, so I charge it at work too. On snow it was behaving quite ok, but indeed lower range. My main worry is that

Put on skiing gear and you can do it in winter too. Works great.

It still doesn't explain why the tip has to be a percentage. Makes no sense.

I always pay by card and where I live you can't add a tip so I never tip.

My bank's app sends a notification for every transaction. So normally, I pay, and seconds later my wrist buzzes and I can check the amount. Thanks to this I caught a fraudulent online transaction for 1.2 million columbian pesos(?) and

Isn't the toilet paper there meant to dry/clean your hand after you used the latter to clean your downstairs area using the water that is also near the toilet?

As an example, gcc includes code generators that try a few random things in order to optimize code. So two builds, on the same system, won't result in the same byte code. Also, build stamps like time, PID, path etc.

Also, the OS X windowmanager has a memory leak and you have to resart every so often. Yesterday mine was 22GB and after restart <100MB… Nothing to do with Nix, just venting ;-)

Cool! Indeed, Rez does something similar on the package management side. For Nix, this is almost a side-effect, however. Nix's primary task is to describe how to build packages, and the entire OS is just another package that groups all

I keep hoping that FaceID will also get FacePassword, where you have to show one or more expressions in order. Then it becomes a password, and the police can't force you to change your expression.

* NixOps lets you define the complete layout of your deployment (in Nix, obviously): how many VMs, what they should be running, where they should be running. * NixOps works on whole machine + transformation of machine level: NixOps builds a

Note that with nixops, you can pass variables to the whole deployment configuration, and as such, your deployment is "dynamic" if you reconfigure it often enough :) Here's a deployment of mesos where you can specify how many

So, I recently saw a study claiming that memory management-related issues constituted 25% of attacks, the rest was other vectors. I may be misremembering, but in any case, simply getting rid of memory faults does not get rid of all attack v

Ex-Gentoo dev here. It is not the same. Gentoo emerge runs in place, and you can definitely break your system with a broken build. NixOS on the other hand, builds everything in sandboxes that only expose the requested dependencies. Builds a

One big difference is that _the entire system_ is built using Nix, including configuration files. Nothing in /etc is editable, everything goes through /etc/nixos/configuration.nix followed by a `nixos-rebuild switch` (do
