Hey, but put it differently, 3% is every 30th person, so technically, they can brag about how cool and easy Linux is to their friends, who’d install it too. So while 3% sounds like a rounding error, they may shift the pretty quickly, and su

With PhotoGIMP, Gimp is pretty usable, and I’d dare to say it can handle like 90% tasks (if not 100%) an average Joe has. If not for this beer weird interface, that would be a pretty usable piece of software. There are aspects that are much

What do you mean? My Intel MacBook Pro works better on Linux than it works on the latest supported macOS (Big Sur in my case). It works longer, and fans almost always stay silent. I have a fairly minimal sway setup, however.

Hey, I don’t have this trauma! Last time I used Windows it was a bit different. Two decades passed, however. Perhaps I just forgot, haha!

Hey, but Linux is just ideal for grandma! Its only competitor is Chrome OS. Well, and iPad OS for obvious reasons.

As a relatively long-time desktop Linux user, now I approach all hardware makers as ‘oh, loser I’d never buy from’ including NVidia (which support is better on Linux, last time I’ve heard of them). I understand that’s a bit of a bubble, as

As someone who also was a bit of a modder during my young years (exactly that 98/2K/XP and even 7 era), I gave up circa time the 7 was released, and moved to Linux, then macOS, and now (last few years, up to 6, depends on what’s t

On the other hand, I did this, cut my cables, and after I needed to reorganise things slightly, it was very difficult, even a centimetre was at luxury. Also, when I need to move a computer for some reason, there’s no room, at all. These day

Serious question: why would you need one for a home usage? I mean, you can easily reboot it nightly, and nobody will ever notice. Unless your personal server is used by people across the continents, of course. But even then, my SBC reboots

Yeah, I started with an obsolete PC a decade ago, and now I’m on a Raspberry Pi 2 and a couple of Orange Pis (zero, 1st gen). Weirdly, it’s enough for me now. I self-host not too many things as of now. So I guess I’d grow at least a couple

I tried it like a decade ago, when I was a macOS fan. It was such a cheap rip-off with not even visual (not to say functional) things being consistent and very much off. However, these days I have no idea. I forgot they even existed. Would

From watching the video I have an impression that these guys just want to appear cool, and the product looks like that too. To appear to be very cool, for people who won’t ever use it, apparently. Same impression I’ve got from watching that

This constant difference between the original title and its censored version contributes into the whole impression (this, plus the lack of any moderation log) into the whole community to be very much censored and demotivates me to be here.

I pirate all the books, I treat that as a public library. I don’t read most of them. The ones I have read and found good, I talk about them, write about them, and I can buy them. For myself, plus as gifts to others. I just dislike buying hi
