"4 hours just to get to work" means it takes 4 hours to get to work, not it takes 2 hours to get to work and 2 hours back. If the parent commenter meant it takes 2 hours to get to work and 2 hours to get back that would have been

I wonder if there's a cultural difference here? In the UK there's a strong second hand market and it's incredibly common to see cars driving around old enough to have no warranty. I have one, it's 12 years old. When it g

Just the other day I went to throw a plastic straw away and as I opened up the bin was faced with a load of un-recyclable plastic film, wrappers for fruit and veg and plastic punnets etc. The straw was a tiny fraction of the problem. At tha

Here's the video where Jobs introduces MagSafe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeqF7zcBOVA It's amazing that they're getting rid of it given how it clearly solves an actual problem. Personally I've had

As someone who has programmed a number of languages and currently mostly programs either Ruby or Go I have to say I would greatly prefer a Rubygems/bundler type system to the one Go seems to be heading for.

I played Frozen Synapse ages ago and didn't link what I was doing in any way with trying out an AI. Maybe the game has changed in recent years. or maybe I'm overestimating game AI.
