Perhaps if you show that you need (a) the thickness of paper and (b) the powers of too, you've shown the thinking ability to pass the question. The result value doesn't matter.

For algorithms or application logic, even rather simple cases, unit tests are an absolute must. For user interfaces, it's a lot more effort for a lot less return. YMMV

The ethical motivation is a lot smaller though, I presume.

Strange indeed. If her answer had been that it's unnatural , she may have a point (not one I'd uphold thouhg), but unethical makes no sense.

Did my first programming at age 10 or 11, but I can't say I wrote any decent code until I was 20 or something.

I'm not disagreeing that a conceptual framework is superior. But I picture it like this, in my very naive way. 1) launch satellites 2) after some time, engineers notice the clocks keep running behind/ahead (I always forget) 3) engineers deb

I think 'knowing something is there' implies observation. Just not in visible light, or some other pedestrian interpretation of the word :)

While I agree with your sentiment, your second paragraph is quite telling of probably everyone in this thread: a bunch of geeks secretly hoping [yet consciously knowing it's probably nonsensical], that LHC research will lead to faster-tha

How is the GSP receiver a consequence of GR (honest question)? I know internal clocks of the satellites have to compensate for time dilation, but to be honest I don't see why that couldn't have been 'fixed' with an empirical solution devoid

That sounds horrible for N > 2. I remember reading lots of comics during Heroes of Might and Magic 2 multiplayer games with my brother. No, you'd need to make a * gasp * real-time roguelike.

In my experience, there's a process where adding accuracy (and thus usually complexity) to a domain model, implies removing existing inheritance assumptions. For instance, in the trivial case an Employee is a Person, but when you go further

If a CS student falls asleep when you talk about GUI systems, they're not in the right class. I didn't need fluffy birds and colorful metaphors to get into this passion of mine. The audience doesn't deserve to be patronized like that.

That has nothing to do with what haberman is saying. Most people know games, and a simple game model can be expressed in inheritance terms in such a way that's illustrative and less contrived than conventional tutorial metaphors. And I ag
