C made a lot more sense to me after having done assembly (6502 in my case, but it probably doesn't matter). Things like passing a reference suddenly just made sense.

I like to imagine two actual people controlling this game, and it's their job to control time. If one misses by accident, time for everyone on earth advances a little too quickly.

That's super helpful! I downloaded the samples for S9fES and LfN, checking those out first. I love how generous you are with the number of pages in the free samples by the way.

I clicked on this and immediately wanted to buy it. But then someone in the comments said to also look at your other books and well damn, now I want to read all of them and I can't choose which to start with.

BYTE is awesome. And this project is awesome and really well done. I miss the BYTE days. Is there a modern day equivalent?

I've been wanting to get off pods since that video, but I still have a Costco size stash of them.

He's very Dutch indeed. His English is also full of dutch-isms that maybe only dutch people recognize. I'm Dutch, but live in Canada. Watching his videos make me miss my home country.

I heard about this but for some reason my 4a was never affected. Still works great and I still use it daily.

I miss it too. I just bought a 90s laptop, and put Windows 98 on it. And Borland C++. I'm sure a good part of it is nostalgia, but there just was something special about computers back then that I miss today.

I recently bought an HP Jornada that I want to explore a little further. Cool little Windows CE palmtop with great battery life.

Also, any fanciness you add in your product is something you need to then maintain. Even after the developer that built it leaves the company.

And if you completely discharge the powkiddy you can't charge it anymore, unless you open it up and physically disconnect the battery, plug the charger in, and then the battery back in.

I want to get into Rust and OS development, so this sounds like a great series. However, the articles were written in 2018-2020. Would they still be mostly relevant? Or has Rust moved so fast that too much has changed?

From what I understood is that these are supposedly bad because they look like video games instead of photographs. Not sure what the problem with that is though. I'm fine with video games looking like video games.

Excellent point. I've never made the distinction really, but you're right. There's no relationship building here, just sharing and commenting.

I have nothing against networks that are actually social. I hate the ones that are only social in name, but are actually just a way to serve ads to people, and are filled with low quality (often AI generated) content. That's why I put

I love his writing, and this wonderful story illustrates how tired I am of anything AI. I wish there was a way to just block it all, similar to how PiHole blocks ads. I miss the pre-AI (and pre-"social"-network, and pre-advertisin
