War is terrible but I can't really feel bad for people who willingly steal old people's savings. However as usual I'm sure the crime bosses will stay safe and it's only the people with no choice who end up dead :( Appare

I'd love to get a real pager again too. But not LTE-M based because that's still a two way system so I can be traced. I just have a pretty strong desire to get my anonymity back when I want it. Not because I need it but just to fe

Why would it be an embarassment? I don't understand that. It's not like my profile is 'recommended' to others, that is not something that happens. They only promote 'influencer' content with tons of followers.

No but this is exactly why I don't want this to become law. However yes if it does become law I will avoid it. It is a big slippery slope aimed at destroying anonimity on the internet. Even if first attempts are privacy-preserving,

Yes gaming a lot. I love all the VR games there are and also some custom ports. Lately I've been playing Metro Awakening and I'm really impressed how they got a full AAA-style game completely self-contained on the quest. Other thi

The portability thing can't be stressed more. It took me ages to liberate my notes from onenote cloud when I moved over to obsidian. Which is of course exactly the point of Microsoft's.

Yeah I don't either, I have to use onenote at work and i use obsidian personally. I'd be a lot more productive if I'd be able to use obsidian there though. Onenote is a turd.

And really, a locally running AI could make that assessment pretty easily even if it isn't declared. No need to destroy the whole world's privacy. Unless that was the goal to begin with, obviously.

While that's really terrifying about Brazil, is it actually enforced? I can't really imagine there being a "Linux Police" kicking down the door of a hooded teenager and prying the Ubuntu DVD from his clammy hands. I mean

We're not 'activists' or so. Often conservatives claim we have a 'queer agenda' or like to turn their kids trans, but we don't care about that. We aren't organised, we just want to be as we are in society.

It's not about that. It's about making the subject taboo so that people will be ashamed to talk about it. If the religious conservatives actually cared about children's lives they'd provide free healthcare, great schooli

It's a service they sell to eg DuckDuckGo and ecosia. I think the og bing is just there because they still think Google may fall out of favour one day. Oh and they offer a corp version spiced up with internal results from SharePoint.
