Yes, a free market isn't the answer to everything. It will never optimise for sustainability unless this is a conscious consumer choice factor. It's way too important to leave it to that though. Hence regulation.

This is exactly the problem they're trying to tackle. Repairability goes further than just batteries.

Yes I know but I doubt it will capture much at all when there's significant wind noise, even enough to understand by ear without STT. A friend of mine has her phone on her handlebars in a gps mount and she sends me voice messages throu

The environmental benefit of sending it in for recycling is probably negated by transporting it all the way back to them for starters. Better to just drop it at the local ewaste collection facility. They'll be less specialised but ther

I'm sure it won't be able to handle wind noise well (it doesn't look big enough to have multiple microphones) so you'd have to stop the bicycle to make a good recording. Might as well grab the phone then.

One thing I can't find is what the new prices will be for the versions without teams . There's special EEA versions of those SKUs. Or will they just not change? I don't use much of it (just email and onedrive) and I can even

The current colour kindles and kobos don't use real eink colour. It's just a bw screen with lcd colour overlay (eink kaleido) The real colour screens are used on the remarkable (eink gallery) and they are indeed slow for full page

Yeah Id love to officially link my matrix instance to it. But they have lots of red tape, and outrageous requirements like wanting to know the IP of every end user that is bridged. Luckily the user bridge works pretty ok.

True. Cook was a great money maker but he's so boring on the product side. But they'll never get anyone even close to Jobs obviously. Just won't happen. Even if they find someone with the same attention to detail and "ri

Why would a VPN be less secure? It's an extra hurdle for attackers to take. You can still use whatever authentication you can on the service. And with a mesh VPN you also don't need to open any ports. However when I look into it i

I prefer mesh vpn because it's an extra authentication layer that Cloudflare tunnels don't have. But if you need to offer services publicly it's a good option true.

It's not so bad IMO. I self-host a lot but I use a mesh VPN, tailscale to get to it. It's much safer not having my stuff exposed to the whole internet, I don't need to have incoming ports open, I don't care if my IP chan
