I'd miss having full screen. I have console full screen on one of my virtual desktops (and I can switch to any desktop with a single key press so in that sense it's the same as yakuake in terms of accessibility). Good point though

That would be so amazing. But there's the edge case that the page is not archived yet. Though admittedly that'll be very rare for paywall links on HN.

Yeah for pounds it's not so bad, you just do x2 and you're in the ballpark though not 200% accurate. Ounces are more annoying to convert.

True and the plastics used aren't typical low weight, the attached cord also weighs (which many power banks don't have). I doubt it even uses a GaN DC-DC converter. There's no way this could be lighter than one designed speci

Ah does not mean it has to be discharged over exactly one hour in some test. It's simply a unit just like kWh. And most batteries are not optimised for one hour discharge. There's batteries with insanely high C-rates for deliverin

Yeah I'm still on X11 and I use this to set the screen sleep to 10 seconds. And back to never sleep when I unlock it again.

With KDE you get a lot more than just a window manager. And i3/sway have a very specific usecase and target audience. By the way I've heard some people combine i3 with KDE, using i3 instead of KWin (which is its window manager com

I use the terminal too much for that. I use yakuake for a quick text based ai interface though. That way I can quickly go like "what's the difference between this and that in Spanish?" when I'm writing something.

Stock yes. Just hide the toolbar. I don't like that either. Turn off main toolbar and session toolbar.

If you want to change the system font you can go right ahead. Don't knock it for it's default appearance because everything can be changed and skinned. Some people have made it look just like Windows, others just like macos.

That's why I love KDE. You can have it just the way you like it. Not how someone else decided on. I think a lot of people knock it just from looking at some screenshots of the default options. Not knowing everything is configurable. Th

They also hide menus under annoying hamburger menus meaning an extra click every time. And have huge fat window handles taking up space for no reason which you can't change. Probably nice if you have a touchscreen but I don't. Ps

I love KDE too. I think macOS was never meant to be like that though. macOS is about opinionated design, where there's one way to do things and you have to go with the designers workflow philosophy or get frustrated. Gnome is a clear e

It's more the tourists go home thing I think. I agree the tourism is a bit much at times but I don't blame the tourists. We're all tourists somewhere at one point. I'm very happy Barcelona is revoking all the AirBnB lice

No you can just book a ticket like with all the others. Always buy a ticket online. Otherwise you'll be stuck in a queue. The Sagrada stopped doing on the spot visits because the queue was getting too long and Battló did as well. Only

You have to be lucky to get a sunny day though. Of course it's Barcelona so that's pretty likely. But on a sunny day the colours are much deeper. The best lighting you get near the end of the day when the sun is low and shines the

20 years ago the world wasn't so tense and deeply polarised as it is now either. I think many people would object more now, not less. Google glass isn't that old though. It started in 2012 with selected testing users and in 2014 i
