I'm very surprised there's not a Bob Ross painting app. One which would have presets for every color, brush, and blade from the show. People could fire up the app and use their Apple Pencil or stylus to follow along. I did that on

For those people who loved Andor and its approach to the Empire and fascism, I have a book recommendation: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire by Chris Kempshall. It's written as history (not a novel) with the author being an in-u

One possible option would be to install Netguard (open source Android firewall that doesn't require root) and block Play Services. I have that on a spare unrooted Android phone. Seems to be working so far. But I'm sure Google coul

There's an interesting comparison to ChromeOS here. Thinking about managed Linux desktops for consumers. SteamOS would possibly be a good, more private alternative in the near future if Steam ever released the OS for wide use outside o

My iPad Mini is my primary travel computer. Fits (barely) in most of my front pockets. But the screen is big enough that I feel comfortable. Keep a bluetooth keyboard with an attachment slot in my bag. The slot holds the tablet firmly enoug

I'm considering one. Bought a Pixel 9 XL recently for GrapheneOS. Screen was lovely but murdered my eyes. Apparently, Pixels have the worst PWM out of all the flagships. Had bad luck too with the 16 Pros. Motorola has some decent quali

I'm in a similar position. Strongly considering replacing my iPhone with a Pixel. But I realize I'm vulnerable via cloud services. GrapheneOS won't save me from someone poking through my Dropbox. I'll have to find anothe

What you'd want is a NUC with AMD. With an iGPU of 780M or higher, you'd equal or beat a Legion Go. You'll find plenty of NUCs like this from Beelink, Minisforum, etc. Usually at $400-800. Depending on sales. Intel's Lun

I remember one Star Trek writer theorizing that the Klingons were so cranky because they never put toilets in their ships. I loved Babylon 5. One minor reason was because a scene was filmed in a restroom. With ultraviolet lights used in pla

One thing that will potentially future-proof the new Mac Mini is that the SSD is on a removable board. It's a custom Apple design but someone's already hand made their own upgrade. Wouldn't be surprised if there will be 3rd p

There's almost nothing in that Libretto size from the mainstream companies. But there are small companies making 8 and 10 inch laptops. GPD seems the most popular brand but there are several you can find on Amazon, Aliexpress, and Ebay
