I have been involved in open source and non-commercial, volunteer driven projects for at least a decade. It's true that it's not right to demand volunteers who spend their time on the projects to answer questions. However, in this

I am not associated with the Kafka dev team or Confluent in any way but have been using Kafka since their 0.7.x days. Speaking of their open source commitment so far, I haven't seen any kind of problems in the way they deal with the co

Never heard of them before but apparently they have been around since 2004 and they support 450k websites and their only revenue model is advertising. I doubt they had a solid technical and business plan behind this service.

Complete newbie question - If a company isn't yet in public market, where and how do the ex-employees sell their stock? Who controls/decides the prices and who are allowed to buy such stocks?

I never knew that it was an accepted practice to have MITM techniques for monitoring activities in cases like the author notes in that thread. I'm not an expert but is this common? I haven't heard something like this before.
