People like flashlights. It's a thing. Just like we like computers.

The thing I forgot is the command for it to get the next set of files to process. Otherwise it will migrate 30% of them and say "look dad, I'm done!"

That's insane, I use webstorm, pycharm, and Intellij, sometimes all at the same time, on a mobile 8th gen i7, it doesn't lock up. The single thread passmark score is literally half your cpu! :D

Indeed, I rarely use auto pilot. I've had to add to claude.md in one project to tell it to not use reflection or it's entire family will die, lol.

I would say Claude misunderstands about 10% of the time once you know how to prompt it.

Claude has helped me a lot to get through my small feature backlog faster. But if you don't review the code you're asking for hurt. It has literally written stuff like "if pending changes > 20, delete all", etc.

Yep! Unfortunately the lipo setup is useless, not only would I not trust the lipo in the heat it will be in, I need to drive some other stuff and it will have a much bigger battery pack anyway. Other than that the heltech boards look great,

The XIAO RP2040 looks perfect for what I'm doing, actually, and draws less power.

Right. Sorry I meant development boards. This is low volume, probably will only make a few a year. The nice thing about the esp32 is I can get the board with lora/display built in, with a battery, for $25 each. The stm32 board and modu

Would an esp32 be the best soc for LoRa? I don't need WiFi or BT, which I know I can turn off to save power. Contemplating trying STM32 instead, don't have experience programming it yet.

With a for loop? You probably don't know you are, or just aren't doing anything cpu intensive.

I haven't tried copilot. Mostly because I don't use VSCode, I use jetbrains ides. How do they provide Claude 3.7 for $20/mo with unlimited usage?

no it's a few hundred lines of python to parse weird and inconsistent HTML into json files and CSV files, and then a sync script that can call the WP API to create all the authors as needed, update the articles, and migrate the images

I pretty much one shot a scraper from an old Joomla site with 200+ articles to a new WP site, including all users and assets, and converting all the PDFs to articles. It cost me like $3 in tokens.

It shows you the diff and you confirm it, asks you before running commands, and doesn't allow accessing files outside the current dir. You can also tell it to not ask again and let it go wild, I've built full features this way and

The problem with Node is observability. They've optimized away observability to where it's hard to find performance problems compared to the JVM to Beam.

Vert.x is great! I'm missing it lately with Node. At least with Vert.x you get a stack trace when you block the event loop by accident...

Building a fast reliable fault tolerant system is easier on mainframes than the cloud you're familiar with. Imagine having transactions ACROSS services. Do you know how much bullshit and over engineering that gets rid of? A lot.
