Gitlab itself was kinda pain free, but having a bunch of dedicated local runners was a bit annoying in 2019ish. It mostly worked (with k3s) until it didn't.

There are several tiny things where you notice the OP only has lived in Berlin and not in different places in Germany, but if you substitute some "most of" with "often/sometimes" I could mostly agree to things, or i

It also depends on where you live it seems. I had to look for a long time, but 2 of 3 of my "Hausarzt" have been stellar and taking enough time. When seeing specialists it was even less so that I felt they had no time. Not saying

I've never seen such a stark contrast between capital and rural areas than in Austria (maybe with a couple bigger cities being in the middle), so without looking at where the person you replied to is from you could have a real agree&#x

These are not mutually exclusive and highly depend on what criteria you look at and how you weight them. I am not even sure how I feel, and less of trying to objectively decide what I am. I definitely feel stronger ties to Munich and Bavari

I've read a lot about Gemini and nothing really excites me the same way the web excited me in the late 90s. To me it mostly seems different to be different, not better in any way (except claiming that it undoes the badness of the "

I remember the name, but before I read this I couldn't connect it to a specific event. Also maybe I took it lightly, or missed a bit, but I did not get project-threatening vibes back then.

Inertia? I have a small project with basically zero visitors, doing basically zero traffic, being filled with a git commit via cron job every day, happily chugging along for a couple years. Why would I switch as long as it works?

This would work for an instance of human accounts who need real UX. A bot instance should really work with the most basic Fediverse software, if it supports posting, reading, replying, etc.

I've been to several meetups here where the company has larger offices in a high rise tower and e.g. the meetup is on the 4th floor but the door bell rings in the 3rd floor reception, and because it's after work, no one is there.

Not sure this is a good comparison because the PHP Foundation is "relatively" new and afaik there's no strong correlation to "the php development team" besides these people being paid and also work on it. PHP had a

I suppose this problem is timeless, back when I was active in the PHP community it was a long-running joke that people who "graduated" to committing to the actual php source (in C) were not doing web development work anymore. And

It's been 8-10 years but when I was serving tracking pixels we were astonished how long we still got requests from residential IPs for whole hostnames we had deprecated. That means I would not trust DNS caching anyway. I'm not tal

Yes and no and it highly depends where you live. Here in Munich the S-Bahn trains typically go every 20 mins during the day and sometimes every 40 very early or late. So that's already a problem if you want to arrive for work and can&#
