Ridiculous. It’s evil because it robs the citizens of agency and power, puts arbitrary offspring into absolute power, and creates a caste system.

I do too. Not the worst kind of oppression though, by far.

You are intentionally ignoring my point about how the symbolic nature itself is evil. It is unconscionable to have a monarchy as a symbol of a country! A monarchy is an affront to human decency; it's absurd. And I do not agree with you

As I said, the symbol itself is evil. But it seems you agree Royal Assent is legally required. It's a monarchy. Don't gaslight people into thinking it isn't.

OK, but doesn't make it fruitful to treat the symptom instead of the disease.

I agree. Having a hereditary monarch is evil. It's that simple. Doesn't matter if it's "symbolic", it's an evil symbol of oppression. Also, it's not symbolic. The king has to approve all laws, for example.

You must be talking about something else. Most companies reserve a day a month or something where people have a little hackathon. They still get paid for it and it takes place during business hours.

If hack days are screwing up scheduling, that's a scheduling problem. (You'll have to figure that out with your company.) If hack days are used to prototype work that's definitely going to be done anyway, that's a planni

I agree there are better arguments. My point was that the specific argument I was replying to was bad.

This is a terrible argument against cars. You could say the same for a train, let's waste energy carrying around 1,500,000 pounds of train to move around 120,000 pounds of passengers.

It doesn't really matter, because if this is possible then it will not be exclusive to OpenAI for long. It's simply just something that can exist. There will be open source versions of everything lagging 1-2 years behind or someth

Absolutely, advertisers are big companies who don't really care how much they're spending on ads. Especially big brands, they have no idea how much advertising helps them, and they don't care about the budget that much. They&

Why does this matter when you can buy other computers that allow you to install whatever software you want? Why do all computers have to work the way you want instead of you just purchasing ones that have the features you want?
