This is good advice. Let me add another important tip too. Bill on regular times. Like at the start of each month and be strict with payment terms. Just do a friendly reminder after that, but... If the customer doesn't pay within the s

The microcode updates can also be loaded via your OS if they are not installed via a firmware update. This happens before the OS itself is loaded early on in the boot stage. See [0] for Linux and possibly [1] for Windows. Not 100% sure if W

Not really a problem for EU if JoeSchmoeLLC is really treating this as not a law for them. US and pretty much every country in the EU have excellent extradition agreements. [0] [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_

Very nice indeed. Immediately ran downstairs to verify a Websters encyclopedia dictionary I bought in the UK around 1997 only to find it wasn't the version with all the prose. It's still a very nice illustrated (and heavy!) dictio

Yep, there are more ways as just one correct way. I doubt that armoring up would ever work down here. There are of course fatal casualities, but they are rare. Riding a bicycle is embedded into our culture, another example is the dutch reac

Correct, besides that we also don't wear helmets. Note however that our road infrastructure is very different from most of the other countries. Getting hit by a car is not something we worry much about. Besides the bike friendly roads,

VMware Fusion supports High Sierra as guest including APFS. I was under the impression that Parallels does the same. Not sure about Virtual Box though.

There used to be a way to turn in off before High Sierra, now the only thing you can do is delete the local snapshots. [0] [0] https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/solution-reclaim-storag...

Not sure why this is a "Show HN" post as this is the official VMware govmomi library? It certainly is worthwhile to look at if you are into VMware and go, but should IMO just have been a normal submission.

It depends on VMware Fusion snapshot functionality. As such it is not a problem to make backups of a running virtual machine. The way it works is that it makes a temporary snapshot of the VM when it is running. Parts of the disk from before

Yes ^^ this ^^, virtual machines have been a good way to learn how useful and easy snapshots are. With APFS snapshots have come to the hardware level and that is really exciting. But beware that this is not a backup. If you loose your main

Most decent ISPs let you create email forwarders. This is exactly what I use when signing up for a new service. Quickly add a new forwarder and feed the service that email address instead of my normal address. When they turn out to be spamm

Not TS, but I did pay dyn for several years. The problem with them however was that they did rack up the price over time and not just a little bit. In 2006, I had to pay $9.95 for their yearly "Pro" offering. In 2008 the deal beca
